Shorouk City is a new Egyptian city, one of the third generation cities, located in Cairo Governorate, and administratively affiliated with the New Urban Communities Authority. It was established by decision of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt No. 326 of 1995. The establishment of the city was within the framework of the Egyptian state’s efforts for urban expansion to achieve several development goals, The most important of which is accommodating the increasing population numbers to relieve population pressure, redistributing the population within the Greater Cairo region, and at the same time raising the standard of living of the region’s residents, by providing new job opportunities from industrial projects, which will be established in the city. The city is located in the eastern region of Cairo and is bordered to the north by the Egypt-Ismailia Road, to the south by the Cairo-Suez Desert Road, to the east it is bordered by Badr City and the Regional Ring Road, and to the west it is bordered by the Ring Road, with a total area of 16.11 thousand acres.
